Reagan Jean :: SEVEN MONTHS

We rounded the corner to the second half of the first year.  So much happens between now and ONE! I'm really excited! When will teeth arrive? When will she crawl? walk?  pull herself up? talk? But for now we'll enjoy her where she is at!

I was right...thankfully...that sleeping all night long was coming soon.  Phew! If she isn't sick and stuffy she can go all night no problem.  I am also sure that teething is going to start and mess it all up. Oh well! These days, or middle of the nights, won't be around forever.  So I'm choosing to soak them up (and be so thankful when I wake up in the morning and realize she never got up)!

The seventh month flew by..literally so fast.  I'm blaming it on February being a short month. She is so much better with food.  It actually makes it into her mouth and has increased her serving size as well number of meals a day.  We aim for three every day now. She still nurses 4 times a day and is a super good and quick eater.

She moved up to "pro" level for rolling over.  She is fast and can no longer be left even for a second on something high. She is pretty good at the plank and soon will start going to her knees to get ready to crawl.

She celebrated her first Valentine's day and was given a Minnie t-shirt from her Daddy. She checked out the Noah's Ark exhibit at the Skirball Center and thought it was pretty cool.

Mostly, she just keeps bringing us smiles and giggles.  She is such a sweet little thing and the perfect addition to our family. We adore her and want to eat her up, which we do frequently.

Here she is at SEVEN months!

I just love when babies do this...

These pictures are getting more difficult!
She knows the sticker is there and wants to grab and eat it!

everything goes in her mouth..everything

like I said..everything
Poor Tasha didn't stand a chance.

We call these chunks delicious. Agree?

Reagan Jean :: SIX MONTHS

Wahoo! Half a year! I love 6 months.  I loved it with Cooper and I love it again with Reagan! I feel like it is a pretty significant month.  And she is becoming more involved with us and really noticing the world around her! It is a blast to watch!

Some of the major milestones this month, you ask??

EATING: We jumped right to oatmeal with this girl and she did a pretty good job with it.  Most of her first meals could be found on her clothes and in her hair but she got better with each meal.  Now, she eats like a pro! Except for the occasional fist in mouth instead of spoon with yummy veggies! She loves sweet potato, applesauce, butternut squash and carrots.  She is not a fan of peas, but we'll try again!

SITTING: One day we were hanging out with Cooper in his room and I thought, I wonder if she can sit up? So I sat her up and let go..and she stayed sitting up! Go Girlfriend!!  It was sweet to see her little face light up realizing she had done something new and cool! Now, she prefers to sit and play on a blanket rather than a bouncy seat.  She even graduated from the bumbo to the high chair for her meals.

REACHING: Anything in reach needs to be in her hands and then in her mouth immediately.  Ha! This stage in not one of my favorite things.  I blame the germ-a-phob in me. But I am working to embrace it and encourage her need to explore and touch.

TRAVEL: Girlfriend took her first trip to Lake Arrowhead.  We took her to the village and showed her the sights.  She fell in love with it like we are..I'm sure of it. She spent another weekend traveling down south and spent her first Superbowl with family in Oceanside.

SLEEPING: nothing to report! Ha! I am looking forward to consistent through the night sleeping..it will come.

We just love her and her precious smile!

Reagan Jean :: FIVE MONTHS

"She smiles with her whole face"

It's what we like to say about her.  Literally her whole face. If you've seen it you know what I am talking about.

I am so anxious to know her more and see how her personality comes to life! Will she chatter away like her brother? or be more of a quiet spirit? Will she be feisty or gentle or both? Strong willed or even tempered? I have some ideas about her, but I'll wait patiently for her to make them known.

For now, I'll just watch and learn and love and smooch.

Five months was fun because it included her first Christmas!  She had no idea what was going on but it was still fun to read her the story of Jesus' birth from the bible, show her the lights, play the music and give her some gifts. She was a real trooper being carted around from one event to the next.

She was also sick for pretty much the whole month.  One cold after another - some days worse than others.  It's so sad to see a little thing so sniffly and coughing.  Her sleeping kind of reverted back to newborn status at times which was not fun for this Mama.  But I just kept trying to remind myself that it is a moment in time and to enjoy it instead of wishing it would pass.  She won't always need me to hold and rock her in the wee hours of the morning.

Lord, this precious girl is the absolute sweetest.  She is perfectly made and wonderful formed in your image.  I can't wait to see what you have for her and pray that one day she will do mighty things for your kingdom. Thank you for her. I am incredibly blessed.

She rolled over the day she turned 5 months!

Reagan Jean :: FOUR MONTHS

I was late on the last one...life with 2 kids around the holidays.  Sorry!

But here we are at MONTH FOUR with our sweet little thing.  Hitting three months and moving into four brought a whole new dynamic to our house. Our newborn was growing more into an infant and I started to feel like my head was going to get above water so to speak. She settled into more of a sleeping routine and became content to sit on her own and watch her surroundings. Life started to feel "normal" again and I figured out how to effectively navigate places like the grocery store, Target and Costco.  But not a day goes by that I don't look at her in amazement that she was entrusted to us.  I desire a heart that is thankful for what I have been given and to recognize the Giver of these gifts.

May I never be so immune to the blessings and sweet treasures in my life.

So what did she do in her 4th month?!? Here we go!

She attended a baby shower for her cousin Grant (arriving this week!)
She found her voice! She started making all kinds of noises
She giggled and my heart melted (again)
She traveled to Camp Nelson for a weekend retreat with the 180 High School staff
She said goodbye to her Great Grandpa John
She had her first (two) Thanksgivings with both families
She flew on her first airplane and managed to make friends and not enemies
She enjoyed her time in Colorado at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and doing all the other activities the hotel provided
She hit up Disneyland to see it decorated for Christmas
She got in the Christmas spirit at Daddy’s work party
She picked out her first Christmas tree
She attempted to roll over (maybe next month)
She grabbed ahold of her toys with a grip that says “just try to take it from me Cooper!”

Enjoy the photos of the last month!
